TFO poster presentation during the COP 13, Cancun, Mexico

A short overview

The interdisciplinary research projects funded within the BMBF initiative “Sustainable Land Management” had the opportunity to present posters indicating steps taken to reach the Aichi targets of the CBD during the thirteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 13 CBD) in Cancun, Mexico. The vernissage of the poster exhibition took place on 6 December 2016 at the CEPA Fair on experiences and best practices in Communication, Education and Public Awareness.

TFO researchers presented their respective results concerning the targets to raise the awareness of people of the values of biodiversity (A1), to reduce the rate of loss of all natural habitats (B5), to enhance the area under conservation (C11), to enhance the contribution of biodiversity to carbon storage (D15) and to enhance the level of participation of indigenous and local communities and to integrate their knowledge, values and perspectives on natural resources (E18).
