The WOCAT book „Making sense of research for sustainable land management”

A short overview

During the thirteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 13 CBD) in Cancun, Mexico, the WOCAT book „Making sense of research for sustainable land management” with contributions from TFO researchers was launched in the course of the “Landscapes Day - Mainstreaming biodiversity across sectors”.

The book synthesises research results obtained by twelve regional projects funded within the research programme on sustainable land management of the German Federal Ministry of Education and research (BMBF). The overall target of implementation-oriented research on sustainable land management was to produce strategic knowledge within changing contexts of soil, vegetation, water and climate nexuses. Within the book practice- and implementation-oriented results with regard to protecting biodiversity and ecosystems or adaption and mitigation to climate change are presented as well as case studies based on the standardized WOCAT format.

The e-print of the book will be available from Weblink
