11 October 2011: Start of "The Future Okavango Project" Workshop in Maun, Botswana
With more than 130 delegates, representing the three participating African countries Angola, Botswana and Namibia and Germany, the TFO workshop was opened by Professor Sue Ringrose from the Okavango Research Institute (ORI). The keynote address was given by the Guest of Honour, Hon. Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Botswana, Dr O.K. Mokaila.
The participants are facing three days of intensive information exchange and discussions between researchers from the four countries and various local and regional Botswana stakeholder representatives.
